'One Way Ticket' album review **** by Rick Fulton, 'Soundcheck' for Daily Record (Scotland)

"Don't worry, Edinburgh-born singer/songwriter David William hasn't re-recorded The Darkness' track. This is his debut album and it is more in tune with Travis than the Lycra-loving rockers. David sounds like Fran Healy and his ear for melody and dreamy lyrics sit well as Scottish soft rock. Opening track Now and Then could be classic Travis with acoustic guitar, mandolin and a bluesy rhythm. Run Rabbit Run harks to Roxette and Come and Go has the singalong power of an Oasis anthem. The 12th and final track That's How It Goes also uses a driving piano but David's voice sounds like Roxette's Per Gessle. There's a lot to like about this new voice in Scottish music."

'One Way Ticket' album review - 5/5 *** by CD Baby listener, Scott Menefee of Copperdown

"One Way Ticket is a brilliant debut album - well crafted, tight, catchy melodies, superb production and great vocals. The arrangements and texture are a joy to hear. The sound is somewhat reminiscent of Cotton Mather, which of course means it's pretty Beatlesque. David's voice is perfect for his music, and the vocals sit just right in the mix. Most of all, though, the tunes are incredibly satisfying to hear. "Come and Go" especially is fantastic. This is the best album I've picked up in a long time... I love it."

'One Way Ticket' album review - 5/5 ******* by Andrew Allan @ Kangar Radio International

"This is one heck of a gem!! David William not only has a great voice but also backs it up with some great lyrics. The opening track "Now and Then" has a haunting sound almost like John Lennon. Overall the production of the this disc is amazing. The riffs and the lyrics are very catchy and keep you listening from the first track to the last track.!"

'Now and Then' - 8.41/10 ****************** by Gordon Bell @ C0nsensus Music Reviews

"Top class stuff from Edinburgh-born David William. You're listening to a fellow who's at ease with his music, and certainly someone who's gone out and invested in the necessary quality to frame his obvious talent. This is very radio friendly commercially viable music, but it has enough originality in there to keep musical cynics like me happy too. Excellent!"

"Come & Go, from David William is a classical British pop/rock song with a sweet vocal melody and deep lyrics."

'One Way Ticket' - 7.33/10 ******************** by Al Grego @ C0nsensus Music Reviews

"This is my second David William review and I must say, he has impressed me so far with pretty good production value and a good pop sense. He sounds like a neo-George Harrision. The mix is pretty good, the vocal could be brought up a little for more intimacy; perhaps a little compression would help in this case. The recording is very full and pleasant. The entire spectrum is represented nicely and I love the organ that creeps into the mix. I don't have much bad to say about this song. It's a songwriter's song which is to say, songwriters will appreciate it, while the average listener may glaze over it since it lacks a blatant hook."

"Great art here. I think you're a great singer and have good music, but to me it's obvious that you're an exceptional lyricist. Your lyrics flow great syllable wise and actually have some great meaning to them... I really dig the originality of your music in the fact that it's spacious and gets the job done with simple yet beautiful notes." - Bryson Van Cleve (USA)

"This song is amazing... This song is structured so well... The melody is so simple and classic... This is one of those songs that could be timeless." - Little Red String (USA)

"Wow. I'm not sure what to say on this song. It's perfectly produced, the voice is strong, the tune is structured nicely. Harmonies are great. The jangly guitar works really well." - Greg Dember (USA)

"I have to say, that this is, by far, the best tune I've heard on here yet. This one should get radio play." - Michael Christiansen (USA)

"If I had a country band I would like to make songs like this. Same kind of laid-back freewheeling melancholic vibe. Don't waste your time on this site." - Dominic Dumont (CAN)

"Great lyrics coupled with a good singer is so rare. Seems like we have it here. Great melody as well. This song is a winner! Very engaging and contemplative." - Heather Brooks (USA)

"In an age where many people confuse louder with better, screaming with singing, and swearing with lyrics, every once in a while along comes an artist that bucks these trends and makes us remember what music really is. Enter David William." - Derrick (Great White Noise)
